Many people who come to see me are surprised when I tell them that discussing emotions is a show of strength. We have been programmed to think that appearing happy and creating the illusion of positivity: “Good vibes only” is the goal that must be attained. No wonder then that around 50% of Americans struggle with anxiety and depression silently and alone without discussing it with their loved ones. It breaks my heart. We are not meant to be perfect and always happy and emotions are like waves we respond to our imperfect environment with gradient of feelings. Just like there is rain, sunshine, snow and wind, there is sadness, joy, disappointment and anger among others inside of us.
I offer safe non judgmental stance to help you examine your inner life, and discover you and your feelings, what causes you to feel sad, or disappointed, or angry. This will help you make better informed choices in your life. There is no reason to bare certain relationships, jobs or situations. I can help you read yourself better so you can get better at advocating for your needs and engage in a dialogue with those around you.
By examining your inner most vulnerable, feelings, you can learn to trust yourself and feel empowered and strong.
